Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges

Ready for a snack attack of roasted sweet potato wedges?

Sweet potatoes are roasted with a simply mix of oil and salt or your choice of spice mixture (recipes included!).

Serve with a spicy dipping sauce for a great snack or side dish.

How to make roasted sweet potato wedges

Featured Ingredients - Roasted Wedges and Aioli

Sweet Potato Wedges:

  • Sweet potatoes: Cut into wedges, skins on (for all that fiber and less prep!).
  • Oil: Your favorite oil, such as avocado or extra virgin olive.
  • Salt and pepper: To taste.

Garlic Aioli:

  • Mayonnaise:
  • Garlic:
  • Lemon:

Featured Ingredients - Spice Mixtures

Smoky Chili:

  • ¾ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Masala-Inspired:

  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Italian-Style:

  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Place sweet potato wedges on a greased baking sheet and toss with oil, salt and pepper.
  3. Choose a spice combination and whisk together in a bowl until combined (optional).
  4. Add spice mixture to oiled sweet potato wedges and toss to coat.
  5. Roast 35-40 minutes, until soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.
  6. While sweet potatoes roast, whisk together aioli ingredients until combined.
  7. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  8. Serve spice-roasted sweet potato wedges with garlic aioli for dipping.

Sweet Potato Wedges:

  • 5 medium sweet potatoes, cut into 1-inch wedges
  • 2-3 tablespoons oil
  • ½ teaspoon coarse salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Mexican-Spiced:

  • ¾ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Indian-Spiced:

  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Italian-Spiced:

  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Garlic Aioli:

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Coarse salt and ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Place sweet potato wedges on a greased baking sheet and toss with oil, salt and pepper.
  3. Choose a spice combination and whisk together in a bowl until combined. Add spice mixture to oiled sweet potato wedges and toss to coat.
  4. Roast 35-40 minutes, until soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.
  5. While sweet potatoes roast, whisk together aioli ingredients until combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  6. Serve spice-roasted sweet potato wedges with garlic aioli for dipping.

Notes

Cooking Tip: Grill the sweet potatoes on an outdoor grill heated to medium for 15-20 minutes, flipping once.
