Mini pork burgers topped with gooey Muenster cheese and crisp veggies on a soft bun.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1pound ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons beer (Amber or stout)
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 slices Muenster, cut into 6 pieces
  • 6 mini buns
  • Burger toppings and condiments, as desired

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the ground pork, mustard, beer, garlic, salt and pepper. Work the mixture with your hands until all ingredients are incorporated. Form 6 small patties.
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet, grill or sauté pan to medium-high heat. Coat the surface with cooking spray. Once hot, add the pork patties and cook on each side about 3-4 minutes, until a brown crust is formed and the internal temperature of the burger reaches 145 degrees.
  3. When the burgers are almost done on the second side, add the cheese slices to each burger and cook until melted.
  4. Remove patties and toast the buns for 30-60 seconds each in the hot pan or grill.
  5. Build mini burgers with desired toppings and condiments.

Notes

Substitution Tip: Swap ground pork for ground turkey, chicken or beef, or do a combination of two.
