This easy, delicious and chunky Instant Pot pear applesauce is made with apples, pears, cinnamon, maple syrup and vanilla and can also be made in a crock post or slow cooker.

  • 4 honeycrisp apples, skin-on, cored and diced
  • 4 Bartlett pears, skin-on, cored and diced
  • ¾ cup water, apple juice or apple cider
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch coarse salt

  1. Place apples, pears, water, maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt in the bowl of the Instant Pot and secure the lid on sealing. Set the Instant Pot on high pressure for 12 minutes. Once it beeps, let it sit until the pressure seal opens, about 10 minutes. Carefully remove the lid.
  2. Use an immersion blender to blend about half of the applesauce, so it resembles chunky applesauce. Place in containers, let cool, then refrigerate.

Slow Cooker Instructions: Place all ingredients in the bowl of a slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high 3-4 hours. Proceed to step 2.

Stove-Top Instructions: Place all ingredients in a stock pot or large saucepan. Simmer for 45-60 minutes, until apples and pears are soft. Proceed to step 2.

Canning Instructions: Wash, then boil jars and lids for 10 minutes. Fill with applesauce, then seal and fit with the lid. Boil filled and sealed jar for 10 minutes. Be sure lids pop, then store in the pantry for up to 1 year.
