Peanut Butter Banana Milkshakes

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

Today we're talking about peanut butter banana milkshakes.

Side shot of two peanut butter banana shakes with whipped cream.

In my house, we love peanut butter banana milkshakes

I mean, just take a second to think of all the delicious things you can make with peanut butter.  PB brownies, cake, pie, ice cream, cookies.  Those energy bites that we love for a quick snack.

And my very, very favorite... {I call it dessert in 2 seconds}... a good ole spoonful straight from the jar.  You know you do it, too.

P.S. Does anyone else get an odd satisfaction from opening a brand new jar of peanut butter and dipping your spoon into it?

No?  Well it's okay if I'm on my own for that one, but I know you all love a spoonful of peanut butter every now and again.  Or daily.  Who's counting?

One of the not-so-obvious, but best ways to use peanut butter is in Asian food.  I just love a hearty bowl of noodles with peanut sauce, topped with crunchy, toasted peanuts. Peanut overload, folks.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.  Remember my recipe for Kung Pao Peanut Chicken Stir Fry?  I am still reminiscing about eating leftovers of this stir fry for 4-5 days, and not complaining once.  It's one of those dishes that gains flavor as it sits, too, kind of like soup.

PB is also absolutely fantastic in chili and curry stews, yes it is.  It may sound a little odd, but because of it's buttery richness, it just works, peeps.  YUM.

I also love using frozen yogurt!

With all that said, I MUST share another classic PB recipe with you.  These are my peanut butter banana shakes.

I am literally obsessed with the peanut butter & banana combo {thanks, Elvis} and think it makes the perfect thick milkshake.

Especially now that we are starting the whole summer thing, we need frozen treats in our life, and why not use PB&B?!?  We deserve it after all of the freezing cold weather of the last 1252 months here in the north.  Amiright?

And with it being Memorial Weekend, we are all looking for something to celebrate this newly acquainted warm weather.  Or maybe that is just me, searching for an excuse to make a shake.

I tell ya what, I am extremely talented at finding justification for anything I might want {or is it need?}.  A new pair of shoes?  Of course I need them, my 2 week old pair are starting to get broken in.

Buy new clothes?  Well yeah, I haven't been to the mall in a week and I just got a coupon in the mail, so there is likely something I HAVE to have.

Pick up some cute antiques?  I might buy a new house someday and I'll want that for it.  Order a latte?  Yeah, it's Saturday and I just went to the gym.  Make a peanut butter shake?

Absolutely, it's warm out and I haven't had a shake in months.

It's an art, folks.  I can justify just about anything that is food or shopping related.

Just let me know if you need my help coming up with a great excuse for buying that new purse or ordering a pizza.  I'm there for ya.

All jokes aside, you need this shake.  Just 3 ingredients, and happiness is all yours.
